The Kentucky Horse Racing and Gaming Company (KHRGC) has appointed Susan Speckert as its first Chief Working Officer (COO). Speckert will assume the position beginning on August 19.

The KHRGC was established by means of 2024 Senate Invoice 299 and assumed the duties of the Kentucky Horse Racing Fee on July 1.

Most lately serving because the Commissioner of Legislation for the Lexington-Fayette City County Authorities, Speckert’s expertise, {qualifications}, and information of the horse racing trade led to her choice, the KHRGC stated in a press release. 

Speckert beforehand served as Normal Counsel of the Kentucky Horse Racing Fee, the place she was concerned in all operations of the company and was instrumental in drafting laws associated to historic horse racing.
