The Kentucky Horse Racing and Gaming Company (KHRGC) has appointed Susan Speckert as its first Chief Working Officer (COO). Speckert will assume the position beginning on August 19.
The KHRGC was established by means of 2024 Senate Invoice 299 and assumed the duties of the Kentucky Horse Racing Fee on July 1.
“I’m honored to work alongside the excellent workforce on the KHRGC to make sure Kentucky continues to steer in defending the well being, security, and welfare of horses, riders and all members in addition to the wagering public,” Speckert stated.

Most lately serving because the Commissioner of Legislation for the Lexington-Fayette City County Authorities, Speckert’s expertise, {qualifications}, and information of the horse racing trade led to her choice, the KHRGC stated in a press release.
